# Vene > Vene is a day planner for the Mac with a finish line. It takes your to-do list (its own, or your Apple Reminders), works out how long each task will take and how much thinking it needs, and lays it into a day you can actually finish, around what is already on your calendar. Then it draws a line at the end of the day and keeps your evening free. Everything runs on your Mac. There is no account and no cloud. Vene is made for people who are tired of to-do apps that make them feel behind: freelancers, founders, students, writers, and anyone whose list never ends. The idea is a bounded day, not a productive one. Vene is willing to tell you to do less. ## What it does - Turns a plain task list into a timed schedule for the day and the week. Tasks come from Vene's own list or from Apple Reminders; the planned blocks are written to a calendar called Vene in the Mac Calendar app. - Quick add reads a sentence the way you would say it ("Draft the investor update tomorrow at 3pm, high priority") and picks out the day, time and priority. This is done on the Mac, not on a server. - Guesses how long each task takes and how much mental effort it needs, then learns your real pace from what you actually finish. - Puts heavy thinking in your best hours and groups similar work together so you are not switching all day. - Draws the end of your working day in advance, from the hours you keep. Work has to fit before that line. Things that are genuinely due today still get scheduled. - When a week cannot hold everything that is due, it says so plainly and offers three ways out, instead of marking anything overdue. - In the evening it gets out of the way. If you practise something (an instrument, a language, reading), it can time the sitting and add it to the Forest, a hand-drawn map that only ever grows. ## What it deliberately does not do - No streaks, scores, percentages, badges or red overdue states. It reacts to what you did, never to what you did not do. - No account, no sign in, no analytics, no cloud sync of your data. Your tasks and history stay on your Mac. - No chatbot. The intelligence shows up as a schedule that fits. - No iPhone or iPad app yet, and no team or shared workspaces. Vene is a single-person Mac app. ## Price and availability - Platform: macOS 15 or later.
