Questions people ask.
If yours isn’t here, write to [email protected]. A person answers.
Why a yearly price?
Vene is made by one person and keeps getting better after you buy it. The yearly price pays for that work. It’s $108 a year at launch, and that stays your price for as long as you keep it. There are no sales, so nobody who waited pays less than you did.
What happens when the beta ends?
Everyone who used the beta stays free until 31 December 2026. From 1 January you get the same 14 day trial as everyone else, and it doesn’t ask for a card.
What if I stop paying?
Vene stops planning and becomes a plain list. Your tasks stay, your past days stay readable, and your forest is still there to walk through. Pay again and planning picks up from that day.
Where does my data go?
It stays on your Mac. There’s no account and no analytics, and we run no server that receives your tasks. The app goes online to check for updates and, after the beta, to check your license. The privacy page lists each one.
Does it work with my iPhone?
There’s no iPhone app yet. Add a task in Reminders on your iPhone and Vene plans it on your Mac. If you use iCloud Calendar, the plan shows up on your phone too.
I use Google Calendar. Does that work?
Yes, if your Google account is in the Calendar app on your Mac. Vene reads whatever Calendar shows.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac on macOS 15 or later. On macOS 26 Vene also uses Apple’s on-device model to read your tasks more closely. Either way, nothing leaves your Mac.
Is it free for students?
Yes, for anyone in education, students and teachers, now and after launch. During the beta it’s free for everyone anyway. At launch you type your school email and a free key arrives there.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Write to [email protected] and we’ll sort it out.
What Vene will never do
- Count a streak or give you a score.
- Turn anything red or call it overdue.
- Ask you to make an account.
- Record how you use it, or sell anything about you.
- Run a sale. The price is the price.
- Lock your forest if you stop paying.
